Whatโs in the Necrons Combat Patrol
The Necrons Combat Patrol is the 10th-edition Warhammer 40,000 starter army for the Necron dynasty. Eighteen miniatures, a pre-built Combat Patrol roster, and you have a playable Necron army out of the box.
- 1x Overlord with tachyon arrow โ 40mm round base
- 1x Canoptek Doomstalker โ 90mm round base
- 3x Skorpekh Destroyers โ 50mm round bases
- 1x Plasmacyte โ 28mm round base
- 10x Necron Warriors โ 32mm round bases
- 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms โ 40mm round bases
Overlord with Tachyon Arrow
The Overlord is the only model in the box with right-hand weapon options โ the tachyon arrow is included, but the kit can also be built with a staff of light, voidscythe, or hyperphase sword from the wider Overlord range. Magnetize the wrist with 3mm x 2mm N52 disc magnets so you can change loadouts between games or between detachments.

3mm magnets need a 3mm drill bit and a hand vise that fits it.
Canoptek Doomstalker
The Doomstalker is a single-build kit โ no weapon swaps to magnetize. The 90mm round base is the magnetization point. Use a Large Thick flush-fit magnet, a pre-magnetized 90mm base, or three 25mm peel-and-stick magnets in a triangle pattern on the underside.
Skorpekh Destroyers
The three Skorpekh Destroyers in the Combat Patrol are single-pose, each with a fixed loadout. The Plasmacyte that accompanies them is also a single pose. Base magnets only for these โ see the base section below.
Necron Warriors
The 10-strong Necron Warrior squad uses the gauss reaper as the squad-level weapon option in the wider kit. The push-fit Combat Patrol sprues build with gauss flayers by default. If you assemble Warriors from the multi-part box instead and want to swap between gauss reaper and gauss flayer, magnetize the forearm joint with 2mm x 1mm disc magnets.

Drill Bits, Glues & Polarity Tools
Magnetizing the Overlord arm and Warrior weapon swaps needs a drill bit matched to the magnet diameter, a superglue that holds magnets in plastic, and a polarity tool.
Drill bits. The medium metric bundle covers 4mm through 6mm magnets โ useful as the army grows into Doomsday Arks and Monoliths.
Glue. Maxi-Cure is the thick CA superglue we use to seat magnets in plastic. Insta-Set sprays over the top to flash-cure the bond so the magnet doesnโt drift while it sets.
Polarity tool. The Magnicator V2 holds a magnet in known polarity, so every wrist socket and weapon stub lines up the same way.
