What’s in the Adeptus Mechanicus Combat Patrol

The Adeptus Mechanicus Combat Patrol is the 10th-edition Warhammer 40,000 starter army for the Tech-Priests of Mars. Nineteen miniatures, a pre-built Combat Patrol roster, and three dual-build kits — meaning the box can be assembled into six different unit configurations.

Tech-Priest Manipulus

The Tech-Priest Manipulus is a single-pose character with a fixed loadout. Base magnetization only.

Serberys Sulphurhounds / Raiders

The Serberys kit is a dual-build — assemble as Sulphurhounds (close-range firefight cavalry with sulphur pistols) or Raiders (longer-range galvanic carbines). Both share the same sprue but with different weapon arms and heads. Magnetize the right shoulder with 3mm x 2mm disc magnets to swap between the two units, and you double the value of the kit.

Pteraxii Sterylizors / Skystalkers

The Pteraxii kit is another dual-build — Sterylizors (melee with phosphor torches) or Skystalkers (ranged with flechette carbines). The torso, head, and arm options are different but mount to the same body sockets. Magnetize the shoulder with 3mm x 2mm disc magnets to swap between configurations. The Pteraxii also use GW’s plastic flight stems — replace with magnetic flight stands for stem damage that won’t need re-gluing.

GW plastic flight stems snap. Magnetic flight stands replace them with a removable, posable rod that pops off when knocked. The Pteraxii use the Extra Small flat stand size.

Skitarii Vanguard / Rangers

The Skitarii kit is the third dual-build — Vanguard (close-range radium carbines) or Rangers (long-range galvanic rifles). The squad includes weapon specialists (plasma caliver, arc rifle, transuranic arquebus, plasma culverin) that swap on the same shoulder mount. With 10 Skitarii to assemble, magnetize the right shoulder with 3mm x 2mm disc magnets so the unit can run as either Vanguard or Rangers, and individual models can switch to specialist weapons as the list calls for them.

3mm magnets fit a 3mm drill bit hole. The Large Pin Vise covers 0.5mm to 8mm bits.
