Harpy & Hive Crone Magnetization Recommendations

The Tyranid Harpy and Hive Crone share a single plastic kit, and a few well-placed magnets let you swap between both flying monstrous creatures from the same model. Below are the parts that pair best with each step of the build.

Harpy and Hive Crone Dual-Build

The kit assembles into one of two profiles: the Harpy (twin-linked stranglethorn cannon, sonic screech, stinger salvos) or the Hive Crone (drool cannon, tentaclids, spore mine cysts). Magnetize the chest weapon mount and the underwing hardpoints so you can swap the heavy weapon and tail biomorph between games. The wings, head, and torso stay glued in place, which keeps assembly simple while preserving both loadouts.

Base Magnets

The Harpy and Hive Crone sit on a 120mm oval base. For a drilled base, the Large Thick Flush-Fit Base Magnets (6mm x 2.6mm) are the right fit — use one magnet if you transport the base separately from the model, or two if you carry the model attached to the flight stand on the base. Pair the magnetized base with a magnetic miniature case so the model rides safely between games.
