Redemptor Dreadnought Magnetization Guide 2.0

Unlike those fools on Mars, we sometimes see the need for innovation. For improvement and more often than not, simpler is better.  Less is more. So on and so forth.

We have redesigned and streamlined our Redemptor Dreadnought Magnetization Kit and this guide will take you through the steps to make sure your entombed battle brothers are able to make use of their full arsenal without spending the much valued resources needed to field multiple units.

For this guide you will need:

  • Redemptor Dreadnought Magnetization Kit 2.0
  • Needle File set or Sanding Sticks
  • Super Glue
  • Magnicator Tool
  • Small Hand Drill (0.5mm - 3mm)
  • 3mm Drill Bit
  • Permanent Marker

    Optional:
  • Insta-Set Accelerant

(Please note - the Magnicator Tool is too wide to fit within some parts of the model. Simply mark the end of the magnet that will be inserted into the respective spot with a permanent marker, then using the broad side of your needle file, insert the disc magnet and glue it in place, making sure the magnet sits flush.)

    STEP 1: Waking up Entombed
To start the build for this mighty Dreadnought warrior, you will follow Steps 1A - 1C. You will need to stop at Manual Step 2A as this step requires you to attach the chest weapon mounts. The steps in this part of our guide will show you how to magnetize one mount, you will just repeat the process with both.

  • First you will need to clip and remove the molded 'ribs' on either chest mount. You can clip them with your snips, and trim the space smooth with your hobby knife or use a broad face needle file to smooth the area (pictured below)

  • Next you will need to use your small hand drill with a 3mm drill bit to drill into the center of the weapon mount face (pictured below)

  • Once the chest mount has been drilled, you will use the BLUE end of your Magnicator Tool to position and glue a 3 x 2mm Disc Magnet into the hole drilled.

After BOTH chest weapon mounts have been drilled and magnetized, you will need to drill and magnetize the respective Weapon Options for this Dreadnought.

  • On the back of each chest weapon, you will need to use your small hand drill with a 3mm drill bit and drill the spot just above the molded trenches (pictured below)
(Be sure not to drill all the way through the weapon face. You will be inserting 3 x 0.5mm flat disc magnets, so dry fit the magnet as you drill each weapon to ensure proper depth)

  • Next, using the RED end of your Magnicator Tool, glue a single 3 x 0.5mm disc magnet into each chest weapon option (2 x Fragstorm Grenade Launchers / 2 x Stormbolters). Once magnetized the weapon options will slide in and out of the weapon mount face with ease.

You can now proceed with the Manual instruction Step 2A - 4E

STEP 2: Now with Kung-Fu Grip!
Stop at Instruction Manual 5-B, you will need to keep parts of the Redemptor Fist sub-assembled for better manipulation of the parts.

  • You will need to use your small hand drill with a 3mm drill bit to drill into the lower half of the Redemptor Fist (pictured below)

Only drill through the outer hull of the Dreadnought, enough to dry fit a 3 x 2mm Disc magnet into the hole and sit flush (pictured below)

  • Using the BLUE end of your Magnicator Tool, insert and glue a 3 x 2mm disc magnet into the drilled hole. The Magnicator Tool should sit flush to the hull of the Redemptor Fist.

Complete Manual Instruction Step 5A - 5C (posing the Dreadnought fist and fingers as you wish).

  • Next you will begin magnetizing the 2 Redemptor Fist weapon options ( 1x Heavy Flamer Support / 1x Gatling Support Cannon).
This process will be repeated for both.
Build both weapon options as shown in Manual Instruction Step 5D but do NOT glue the weapon to the fist.
Each weapon will have its connecting parts glued to the weapon itself and will dry fit into the molded slot on the fist.

  • On the underside of both weapons, you will need to use your small hand drill with a 3mm drill bit and drill into the spot pictured. The weapons are hollow once built, you will know when you have drilled through to the proper depth.

  • Using the RED end of your Magnicator Tool, mark the end of the 3 x 2mm disc magnets that will be inserted into the wrist weapons.
Like the Chest mounts earlier, you will need to use either the broad side of a needle file or the end of a drill bit to ensure the magnets are glued in and the exposed surface is level, allowing a flush fit to the wrist.

    STEP 3: The Big Guns
The following portion of this guide will show you how to magnetize the 2 main weapon options for your Redemptor Dreadnought and make them swappable.
Once you have magnetized one weapon, you will repeat the exact same process with the other weapon. The model includes 2 x elbow joints, listed as part 68 in the Instruction Manual, you will only be magnetizing one.

First you will need to clip the pegs from either side of the elbow joint (part 68).

DO NOT REMOVE THE SQUARE PEG ON THE TOP

Once both of the side pegs are removed, you will need to trim down and file the plateau that remains, using the broad side of your needle file. The file will need to sit flush to the now flat surface.

Once both sides are flush, you will then drill into the spot indicated below, using your small hand drill with a 3mm bit.

You will drill all the way through the Elbow Joint.

  • Using the RED end of your Magnicator Tool, insert and glue a 3 x 3mm disc magnet into the center of the Elbow joint. Make sure that the Magnicator Tool sits flush against the joint.

USE THE PHOTO BELOW AS A POLARITY GUIDE FOR ELBOW MAGNET

If you get confused while adding magnets to the main weapons, simply refer back to the pictures  above.

  • Plasma Incinerator
With the elbow joint magnetized, match the polarity to the elbow joint by using the BLUE end of your Magnicator Tool to insert and glue a 3 x 2mm disc magnet into the pre-molded hole that WOULD have housed the peg on the elbow joint.

Next use the RED end of the Magnicator Tool, mark the end of another 3 x 2mm disc magnet and insert into the opposite side of the Plasma Incinerator housing using either flat end of your needle file or drill bit, setting the magnet into the other pre-molded peg hole.

Repeat this process for the Gatling Cannon, making sure to match polarity to the elbow joint.

You can now finish the Activation Rites for your Entombed Battle Brother. Ready to bring the Emperor's judgement to all whom oppose the Imperium of Man. LEAD ME TO THE SLAUGHTER!
