Primaris Crusader Squad Magnetization Guide

The Primaris Crusader Squad embodies everything the Black Templars stand for — aggressive melee, righteous zeal, and flexible battlefield roles. But beneath the tabards and chains lies a kit packed with weapon options that can dramatically change how the unit performs.

In this article, we’ll explore how to magnetize the Primaris Crusader Squad efficiently and cleanly, focusing on the most impactful swaps while maintaining strong, stable joins. Whether you're planning for competitive flexibility or simply want to protect your investment, this approach ensures your Crusaders are ready for any vow they swear on the battlefield.

To keep track of magnet polarity, we use a set of Magnicator tools.  We may refer to the polarity of the magnets as “red” or “blue,” after which Magnicator is attracted to that magnet’s surface.

We’ll go step by step to make it simple to make the Primaris Crusader Squad's weapon options fully interchangeable.

So grab your magnets and let’s get started!

 Magnets Needed: Main Body Magnet

10pcs 3mm x 11.5mm

To magnetize all of the bodies in our Crusader Squad, I drilled through each marine’s body from side to side so our 3 x 11.5 magnet can slide through. Using my Magnicators, I aligned all the magnets the same, with the red color for the right side and blue for the left side. If every Space Marine has the same polarity, they can use all the weapons in the kit.

Firstly, I recommend shaving down the neck bulge on the inside of the body. This can block our 3 x 11.5 magnet from passing through. If you’ve already glued the body together, don’t worry! I used my 3mm drill bit and applied pressure so the drill bit touched the neck bulge. I shaved it down little by little until my drill bit came out the other side.

Magnets Needed: Arms

29 pcs 3mm x .5mm

Now, let's move on to the arms and their weapons. After assembling all the weapons, I magnetized all the arms using a 3 x .5 magnet. Since my right side was marked with red on the Magnicator, all the right arms can be blue, and all the left arms can be red. For the arms that carry bolters, I recommend magnetizing the arms first, then gluing them together.

However, for the shoulder pads, we recommend using some blue tack to stick them onto the shoulders. If you want to magnetize them, I’d recommend using 2 x .5

After magnetizing all the arms and connecting the Marines, the entire Crusade Squad is now ready and magnetized for any loadout you want!
