Intercessor Squad Sergeant and Grenade Launcher
Primaris Intercessors are the backbone of any Adeptus Astartes army — steadfast, versatile, and iconic in both gameplay and lore.
Each marine comes from a multipart kit brimming with customization options: multiple heads, shoulder pads, and weapon arm variants allow hobbyists to craft a uniquely themed squad ready for any tactical challenge.
But beyond just assembling your chosen loadouts, there’s the age-old hobby choice: How can I get the most out of this kit? For Intercessors, the options are there, but you’ll want to know where magnetization makes sense — especially since many of the aesthetic differences (like bolt rifle variants) are often cosmetic in 10th edition rulesets.
This kit is designed to swap two Intercessors between the Astartes Grenade Launcher and the Bolt Rifle, along with a head swap for the Sergeants, so you can run either a 10-man squad or two 5-man squads while keeping the aesthetics consistent.
To keep track of the polarity of the magnets, we use a set of Magnicator tools. We may refer to the polarity of the magnets as “red” or “blue,” after which the Magnicator is attracted to that magnet’s surface.
Magnet List: Intercessor with Grenade Launcher

Magnet List: Intercessor Body
2pcs 3mm x 11.5mm
Before we begin, make sure the bodies of the Intercessors you are going to magnetize are not glued together. To drill out the body of the Intercessor, use your 3mm drill bit and drill on both sides where the arms would normally be glued.

Then, using a sharp knife or snippers, clear out the plastic bump where the two halves meet.

Dry-fit the parts together, then drill out any remaining material. After you have drilled out the 3mm hole, insert the 3mm x 11.5mm magnet. Use your Magnicator and with the red end, insert it on the Intercessors' left side.

Magnet List: Intercessor Arms
8pcs 3mm x 0.5mm
Before gluing the arms together to hold the weapon, glue a 3mm x 0.5mm magnet where the arms would normally be glued to. The right side of the Intercessor will be red, and the left side will be blue. After you have glued all the magnets to the arms, you can glue the arms together as normal.

Double-check the polarity and test-fit the arms!
Magnet List: Intercessor Shoulder Pads
12pcs 3mm x 0.5mm
The shoulders can be done very easily! Take a 3mm drill bit and drill on top of the shoulder. Glue a 3mm x 0.5mm magnet using the Red end of your magnicator.

On the shoulder pads of your choosing, glue 3mm x 0.5mm magnets into each shoulder with the Blue end of your magnicator.

Magnet List: Sergeant Head Swap
3pcs 2mm x 1mm
The Intercessor Squad can run 2 five-man squads of Intercessors; we'll magnetize a head swap for one of the lucky Intercessors! Choosing an Intercessor body with a bolt rifle and drill a 2mm hole where the head meets the body, and beneath the head. Insert a 2mm x 1mm magnet into both of the heads and one into the body. Use the red end of your magnicator for the heads, and the body as blue.
For the Sergeant, you can magnetize the arms with power weapons, thunder hammers, chainswords, and plasma pistols, but the Intercessor Squad kit that Game Workshops provides does not include them. If you have extra bits left over from your previous projects or a friend who has the extra weapons, you can magnetize the arms with 3mm x 0.5mm magnets.
