Death Korps of Krieg Heavy Artillery Crew Magnetization Guide
Friction-fitting makes assembly faster, but as the plastic wears, those parts can loosen—which is the last thing you want when you're mid-game, and your artillery gun starts drooping. Magnetizing gives you secure, reliable joins that stand up to both play and transport. Plus, it lets you swap parts or loadouts with a satisfying click as our magnets snap together. Here’s our guide on how to magnetize your Krieg Artillery Team for Warhammer 40K.

You will need
1pcs 8mm x 1mm
4pcs 6mm x 2mm
2pcs 4mm x 2mm
4pcs 3mm x 2mm
Modeling putty such as Miliput or Green Stuff
Magnets Needed for the Artillery Carriage
2pcs 4mm x 2mm N52
Let’s start with the artillery carriage. There’s a hole on either side where the weapon options normally friction-fit, but we’re going a step above by gluing two 4×2 magnets into those slots. Once they’re aligned and fully cured, you’ll have a strong anchor point for any weapon you want to attach.
Next, we’ll move on to the weapon assemblies themselves and show where to place the matching magnets to complete the setup.
Magnets Needed: Artillery Guns
4pcs 6mm x 2mm
4pcs 3mm x 2mm
1pcs 8mm x 1mm
Green Stuff / Epoxy Hardener
Before proceeding, I didn’t fully finish all of these guns. I subassembled the Heavy Quad Cannon, Multiple Rocket Launcher, Siege Cannon, and Heavy Mortar and left the insides with easy access for me to get to.
Heavy Quad Cannon
2pcs 6mm x 2mm
Let’s start with the Heavy Quad Cannon. Before finishing gluing this model, I put a 6 x 2 on each circular elevation point (called a trunnion in real life) where the Quad Cannon will rise and lower inside the gun. I wanted to minimize any drilling necessary for this model.
Multiple Rocket Launcher
2pcs 3mm x 2mm
Moving on to the Multiple Rocket Launcher. I didn’t fully the 6 x 2 magnets are too big to fit inside. I moved down to a 3 x 2 magnet instead. This was small enough and gave me the strength to hold the Rocket Launcher in position.
Siege Cannon / Heavy Mortar
2pcs 6mm x 2mm
2pcs 3mm x 2mm
1pcs 8mm x 1mm
Green Stuff / Epoxy Hardener
These weapons are combined into one list because they both use the same weapon body. I started by gluing 6 x 2 magnets on the points of elevation inside the body where the Siege Cannon and Heavy Mortar attach.

After securing them, I focused on the Siege Cannon and Heavy Mortar. I drilled a 3mm hole at the bottom of each piece and glued a 3 x 2 magnet into each one.

Next, inside the gun, I used Green Stuff, an epoxy hardener, and applied it inside the artillery gun’s body. Once I mixed enough, I pressed an 8 x 1 magnet inside and let it cure after sealing it. During this process, I pushed the Siege Cannon and Heavy Mortar into their respective holes. This helps me push the magnet back (or pull it forward if it was too far) and makes it sit flush.
