The Baneblade Magnetization Guide
The Baneblade is one of the most formidable weapons the Imperium of Man and the Astra Militarum have to offer. From eight different variants of profiles to choose from, it’s a lot of firepower to miss out on! We have redesigned this kit to be fully accessible and easy to magnetize. That means this Baneblade kit is compatible with Warhammer 40K & Horus Heresy.
Don’t be afraid of the count of the magnets. The bulk of it is meant for the panels and sponsons on the side of the tank. Everything else is easy to place for the weapons and attachments.
This kit offers everything you need to make your Baneblade not only magnetizable but also easy to assemble, with a full set of ready-to-follow instructions.

Side Panels
This is where the bulk of the magnets live. To make the kit compatible with both 40K and Horus Heresy, we designed the side panels to be swappable and mountable as sponsons.
On the inside of the side armor (known in real life as fenders, sideskirts, or trackskirts), you'll find small squares marking where the panels connect. Glue your 12pcs 6mm × 6mm × 2mm block magnets onto these squares using the red end of your Magnicator.

For the panels themselves, there are two ways you can install them. Flip your panel over to the back and choose your preferred method:
- You can cut off the pegs that normally glue to the side and glue a 3mm x 1mm magnet where the peg was. Sand the area with hobby files to ensure a flat surface (and to scratch the surface of the magnet for better glue adhesion).
- The second way is not to leave the pegs intact. Drill a hole in the center of each peg, and glue a 3mm x 1mm magnet into the hole using the red end of your Magnicator. If you don’t have drill collars, use tape to mark where 1mm is below the conical point of the drill. Take breaks when drilling these panels and check the other side to make sure you’re not drilling through.

Sponson Guns & Upper Panels
The sponson gun mounts use 2.5mm × 2mm magnets, which fit into the molded hole on each mount. Insert the magnet into the right side of the mount using the red end of your Magnicator.

For the guns that attach to the sponsons, drill a 2mm hole at each connection point and glue in your 2.5mm × 2mm magnets. The right sponson gun gets the blue end of your Magnicator; the left gets the red end. Then continue assembling the sponson as normal.

Using the 1" × ¼" metal sheets included in your kit, glue one sheet to the underside of each panel and sponson.

On the underside of the top section that covers the tracks, glue 3pcs 20mm × 10mm × 2mm block magnets to each side — six total. We recommend lightly scratching the plastic surface and the magnet beforehand for better glue adhesion. Once these are set, your sponsons and panels are fully magnetized and ready to swap.

Since these are hidden inside the model, I'd recommend using Miliput to keep the magnets in place and give them extra holding strength.
| Step 2: Baneblade and Hellhammer Turret | Number of Magnets: |
| 8mm x 2mm | 2 |
| 5mm x 2mm | 2 |
| 3mm x 2mm | 5 |
| 3D Printed Parts: |
| L Bracket |
| Part B2 |
For the turret, drill a 3mm hole where the Cannons would normally be glued to. Then, with the blue end of your Magnicator, glue a 3mm x 2mm magnet into the hole.
Hellhammer Cannon
Drill into the back of the Hellhammer barrel and glue a 5mm × 2mm magnet into the hole using the red end of your Magnicator.

Baneblade Cannon
Inside the barrel, there's a small notch where the turret face would normally connect — this is where your magnet should sit in line with it. Glue a 5mm × 2mm magnet onto part B2 (included in your kit), then glue the magnetized B2 inside the barrel as shown.

Command Module - Antennas
The antennas are magnetized so they can flex and pop free instead of snapping off. Drill a 3mm hole into the center of each antenna at its connection point, then glue a 3mm × 2mm magnet into each hole using the red end of your Magnicator.

Place each antenna in its position on the command module, then drop a magnet inside the module — it will attract and self-align to the antenna's magnet. Glue it in place where it sits naturally. Milliput works well here to keep the magnets secure.
Command Module - L-Bracket
Glue an 8mm × 2mm magnet into the hole of the included 3D-printed L-bracket, then insert the magnetized L-bracket into the command module all the way to the back edge. Once glued and fully cured, dry-fit it against the back of the turret.

For the turret side, simply drop the second 8mm × 2mm magnet into the turret — it will automatically attract and align itself to the L-bracket magnet. Glue it in place, and your turret is now compatible with Horus Heresy.
| Step 3: Stormsword | Number of Magnets: |
| 15mm x 3mm | 2 |
| 14mm x 2mm | 1 |
| 8mm x 2mm | 1 |
| 3mm x 2mm | 1 |
| 3D Printed Parts: |
| Part B1 |
| 2pcs Guide Rails |
Stormsword Cannon
Let’s begin with the gun for the Stormsword. Before final assembly, glue a 14mm × 2mm magnet into the tip of the Stormsword barrel using the red end of your Magnicator. This magnetizes the tip so that if yours doesn't pressure-fit, it'll snap on securely instead.

For the gun tip itself, drill an 8mm hole into the inside of the piece and glue an 8mm magnet into the hole from the back using the red end of your Magnicator. If done correctly, the tip will snap magnetically onto the main barrel.
Take piece B1 and glue a 15mm × 3mm magnet flat against its face with the red end of your Magnicator. Apply glue to the sides of B1, then insert it into the main gun body. For extra hold, you can put Milliput around the edges to keep it firmly in place.

There is a small peg that normally would be inserted into the Cannon. For our purposes, we will cut that peg away. Dry fit the cannon to the turret for the next magnet.

With the other 15mm x 3mm magnet that will be glued inside the turret, release the magnet, and it will magnetize itself to the Main Gun assembly. Glue it in place, and you have magnetized the main barrel!

Turret Antenna Magnet
Take the magnetized antenna you installed earlier and dry-fit it onto the turret. Insert a 3mm × 2mm magnet into the hull; it will automatically align to the correct polarity. Once aligned, glue it in place. For added security, using Milliput is recommended.

Guide Rails
Before moving on to the Stormlord, let's set the guide rails. Getting these right is what allows you to swap between the Stormlord and the five other variants using the same turret.
Place the firing deck of the Stormlord that can be covered to mimic an engine into position. To align the guide rails, we will use the bottom of the firing deck and an edge that is raised.

Place the Stormlord's firing deck — the piece that can be covered to mimic an engine — into position. Lay the Baneblade on its side. Insert the first guide rail so that its back face sits flush against the raised edge and its top face sits flush against the decking. Apply a small amount of glue and repeat on the other side.

Test-fit the firing deck and the movable panels. Everything should sit level with no wobble. If it does wobble, readjust the guide rail and check again before applying more glue to the rail.
| Step 4: Stormlord | Number of Magnets: |
| 6mm x 6mm x 2mm | 2 |
| 3mm x 2mm | 1 |
| 3mm x 1mm | 2 |
Before we start, for the armor panels that are on the front, I'd recommend the angled armor panels that follow the outline of the main gun.
Firing Deck Guns
With the guide rails set, we can move on to the firing deck guns. Using a 3mm drill bit, drill into the back of each gun at the halfway point and insert a 3mm × 1mm magnet. The magnet should sit fully recessed and flush — not protruding.

On the underside of the firing deck/engine block, there's a corner recess large enough to fit a 6mm × 6mm × 2mm block magnet. Dry-fit a firing deck gun into position on the deck, then drop a block magnet into the corner recess — it will self-align to the gun's magnet. Once aligned, glue the block magnet in place.

Stormlord Gun
With the last 3mm x 2mm magnet, drill a 3mm hole into the back of the main gun. This will magnetize itself to the 15mm x 3mm magnet. Use the red end of your Magnicator to insert the magnet.

| Step 5: Shadowsword & Banesword |
Good news — you can put the drill down. The rest of the gun options are pressure-fit, meaning they snap together without a single magnet. Your fingers deserve a break.
