XV8 Crisis Battlesuits No-Drill Magnetization Guide
Crisis Battlesuits are the best case for magnetization in all of Warhammer 40k. Three weapon hardpoints per suit, a weapons pool that spans 15+ options, and rules that shift with every balance dataslate — if you glue your Crisis loadout down, you're going to regret it.
The Magnet Baron Crisis Battlesuit kit comes with 3D-printed mounting inserts that seat directly into the hardpoint sockets — no drilling, no eyeballing depth, no ruined plastic. Each insert has a pre-formed magnet well sized for the included magnet. You press the magnets in, the insert slides into the socket, and you're done—the weapons swap in and out with a satisfying click.

Three suits from a standard box. Nine hardpoints. One afternoon. No drill.
The edges of the 3D-printed parts have been highlighted with a black marker for improved visibility.
To track the polarity of the magnets, we use a set of Magnicator tools. We may refer to the polarity of the magnets as “red” or “blue,” after which Magnicator is attracted to that magnet’s surface.

| Step 1: Weapons | Number of Magnets: |
| 2mm x 1.5mm | 18 |
| 3D Sprues |
| Tau Crisis Magnet Key |
| Tau Crisis Magnet Key Blank |
The magnet installation is simple — the only new part is the 3D-printed Magnet Keys. The tab on the bottom of the weapon fits into the notch on the Magnet Key. Press it in until it seats flush. No guesswork — if it's in the right place, you'll know.

Once the square is seated, glue it in place and let it set. You'll see the 2mm × 1.5mm hole sitting ready in the center.

From there, it'll be this process. Place a magnet on the red end of your Magnicator, and push it into the hole. Glue, cure, done.
In case you're not using a weapon, you can cover the hole with the Key Blank we have provided! Just insert it into the hole, and it is covered! It can be easily removed by lifting it with your finger.
| Step 2: Jetpacks | Number of Magnets: |
| 2mm x 1.5mm | 6 |
| 3D Printed Sprues |
| Tau Crisis Right Jetpack |
| Tau Crisis Left Jetpack |

On top of the jetpack body, you'll find a pre-formed 2mm × 1.5mm hole — this is your first hardpoint, and the process here is the same one you'll repeat across all six jetpacks.

Take the blue end of your Magnicator and place a 2mm × 1.5mm magnet on the blue tip. With the magnet sitting on the Magnicator, use a marker to dot the face pointing outward — that's your polarity mark.
From here, you have two options:
1. Use a weapon that already has a magnet installed. Place a 2mm × 1.5mm magnet onto the magnet on that piece so they snap together. Apply a small drop of glue to the exposed magnet, then carefully insert it into the hole. This ensures the polarity is perfectly aligned and the magnet is glued to the jetpack.
2. Or, transfer it to a small metallic object first — an Allen wrench works perfectly. Either way, ensure the marked face remains oriented in the same direction it was on the Magnicator. That's all polarity management is: keeping the dot facing the same way every time.
Once all six jetpacks have their magnets installed, mount them to the body as shown in the Games Workshop instructions. Glue the jetpacks into place, and they are finished!

| Step 3: Arms | Number of Magnets: |
| 2mm x 1.5mm | 6 |
| 3D Printed Sprues |
| Tau Crisis Left Arm |
| Tau Crisis Right Arm |

The arms follow the same magnet installation process—the only difference is where you're working. The upper arm has three blocks on the elbow, and the forearm has notches on the top. Place a 2mm × 1.5mm magnet onto the blue end of your Magnicator, dot the outward-facing side with your marker, and then install it into the hole just like you did on the jetpacks. The same polarity rule applies: marked face, same direction every time.

Once the magnet is glued and cured, attach it to the ball socket on the suit's body as in the Games Workshop instructions.

| Step 4: Support Systems | Number of Magnets: |
| 2mm x 1.5mm | 8 |
| 3D Sprues |
| Tau Crisis Magnet Key |
| Tau Crisis Magnet Key Blank |
| Tau Drones & 75 |
The shoulder support systems work exactly like the weapons — same printed square, same process. We included an extra part 75 for your convenience to have every magnetized option.
Find the notch on the bottom of the support systems and press the square in until it seats flush. Glue it in place and let it set. Then place a magnet on the red end of your Magnicator and push it into the hole. Glue, cure, and repeat for the remaining suits.

Once these are done, your support systems snap directly into the jetpacks the same way your weapons connect to the arms.

In case you're not using a support system, you can cover the hole with the Key Blank we have provided! Just slot it into the hole, and it is covered! It can be easily removed by lifting it with your finger.
| Step 5: Drones |
Number of Magnets: |
| 2mm x 1.5mm | 18 |
| 3D Sprues |
| Tau Drones & 75 |
| 3x Rod Top Hex 3mm |
Drones are two parts: the drone itself and the flight stand.
At the bottom of the drone (pieces 85, 86, and 87), you'll find a pre-formed 2mm wide hole. Same process as always — place the 2mm x 1.5mm magnet on the red end of your Magnicator, glue it in, and cure.

For the flight stand, take your sprue cutters and snip off the peg at the top. Glue a magnet flat onto the cut surface with the blue end of your Magnicator, and let it cure. The drone snaps onto the stand and can be removed cleanly for transport or storage.
The three drones we provide work with every alternative drone weapon option, allowing you to magnetize all configurations. That's a total of 9 drones you can swap and play with!

If you're using the flying version of the Battlesuits, we've included our new Hex Flying stands. The Hex Flying Stand has two parts: the base post and the top receiver. The base post fits into your flight stand after you remove the peg, just like with the drone flight stand, and the top receiver attaches to the underside of the suit. Both parts accept a 3mm × 2mm magnet in a pre-made hole. With the red end of your Magnicator, glue a 3mm x 2mm magnet into the top receiver, and with the blue end, attach a 3mm x 2mm magnet to the base post. Press the two pieces together, and the suit will lock onto the stand with a satisfying click.
The kit comes with 10 flight stands, which are enough for 9 of the drones and 1 of your battlesuits to fly. If you want all your battlesuits to fly, we recommend our Extra Small Flight Stands.
