Instructions & Contents
To assemble this kit you will need glue, files or sandpaper, and a knife or clippers. You will need to remove the 3D printed parts from their sprues and sand (or file, we use the terms interchangeably) the parts to remove the support artifacts. You may need to sand some parts for them to fit together properly.
Please follow the normal assembly instructions as they come with the plastic kit. The instructions below are only for the magnetization of the parts pictured and do not show the full assembly process.
To keep track of the polarity of the magnets, we use a set of Magnicator tools. We may refer to the polarity of the magnets as “red” or “blue,” after which magnicator is attracted to that magnet’s surface. (The normal terms such as North & South or positive & negative are unnecessary here.) If you do not have those or similar tools, ensure you have some other method of tracking a magnet’s polarity. For example, you might color one surface of a spare, large magnet with a marker and reference back to it every time you use a magnet. Possibly attach that large magnet to a tool that you can keep nearby but you won’t need to use; A hammer or wrench, for example. The magnets are obviously made of shiny metal, but in the rest of the instructions, we will show them as red & blue cylinders so we can indicate the polarity.

The table above lists the five areas of the Wave Serpent or Falcon model where we will install magnets and the corresponding steps in the Wave Serpent assembly instruction book which will be impacted. We suggest that you mark your instruction book on the noted steps so you don’t miss them.
The Wave Serpent kit, unfortunately, does not label the individual parts with a number. We will try to be descriptive and show pictures of the parts while we are using them. The Falcon kit does name the individual parts.

The components needed for this step. The Falcon grav tank has a crew compartment, part E8, that is glued to the back of the main hull B2. The Wave Serpent grav tank has a much larger crew compartment part that expands on the hull both backwards and below which attaches to the same point on the main hull B2.
The sprues needed in this step.
The parts needed for this step. F6 is a trapezoid-shaped part that attaches to the Wave Serpent and Falcon crew compartment parts. F7 is a smaller trapezoid that fits into a notch on F6 which attaches to the rear hull of the tank. FG1 is the guide piece to help place the other two parts in the Crew Compartment.
Install the magnets into F6 and F7. Pay careful attention to the polarity of the magnets.
Using “blue up” polarity, also showing the notch where F7 fits inside F6.
FG1 is used to correctly place the part F6 on the sides of the crew compartment pieces. The above pictures show how F6 is placed onto FG1 to prepare for installation.
Align FG1 with the top of the crew compartment part flush to the inside top of the cavity and use a small amount of glue to hold F6 in place, being careful not to get FG1 stuck too. Carefully remove FG1. Reinforce F6 with more glue if necessary. This will place F6 at the very top and all the way forward on the side of the crew compartment part.
Repeat for the other side and both sides of the other part.
For the Wave Serpent crew compartment, you will need to attach the WS Top Rear hull and WS Top Rear Vent parts to the crew compartment part.
The Wave Serpent crew compartment with top parts attached.
Orient FG1 as shown above. The notch to the left of the FG1 letters fits onto the vertical strut on the main hull part B2 (shown with red lines). F7 fits into the lower notch of FG1 with the biggest flat side on the hull. Use a small amount of glue to hold F7 in place. Carefully remove FG1 and reinforce F7 with more glue. Repeat with the other side.
F7 in place on the rear hull. (Red outlines for emphasis.)
At this point, the magnetization of the crew compartment is finished. Here are some instructions for how to use it. The two crew compartments can be swapped out after the whole tank hull and armor is completed; We are showing it at this stage of construction so you can more easily see how the parts connect.

The components used in this step. For this example, we use two Starcannons for the Wave Serpent turret support weapons and a Scatter Laser for the Falcon. In practice, any of the included support weapons can be used on either turret.
The 3D printed parts sprue and the three parts from it. F1 is put onto the tank hull. F4 is used in the Wave Serpent turret and F5 is used in the Falcon turret.
Glue two 2mm by 4mm tall disk magnets into the Wave Serpent Support Weapon Shaft F4 and one into the Falcon Support Weapon Shaft F5. Note that the polarity of all three magnets should be the same. Here we are using “blue out.” Glue one 2mm by 4mm tall disk magnet into each of the support weapon shrouds: Two left and one right. (An extra magnet is included in case you want to magnetize all four shrouds.) The polarity should be the opposite of the shafts.
You need to trim away the shaft at the bottom of the Wave Serpent Turret Hull Topper. The shaft needs to be removed so the bottom of the part is flat. You can use clippers, knife, or saw.
We use a saw to cut the part flush. There will still be a deep hole sufficient for the magnet in the next step.
Glue a 3mm by 4mm disk magnet into the bottom of the Falcon Turret Base. Glue a 3mm by 2mm disk magnet into the bottom of the Wave Serpent Turret Base and another one in the WS/F Upper Turret Plug F1. The polarity of the magnets in the two turret bases need to match and the polarity of the turret plug’s magnet needs to be the opposite.
Glue F1 into the underside of the hull such that the smaller part fits into the hole.
Each of the support weapon stock parts have a small V-shaped notch on the bottom of the pivot ring. The support weapon shafts were designed to take advantage of that notch to help lock the weapon in place. The gold part in the above picture represents the support weapon.
With the magnets installed in both the shaft and the shroud (green), the support weapons (gold) are held in place.
Insert the shaft F4 into the Wave Serpent turret base. Do not glue!
Glue the Wave Serpent turret top onto the base. Be careful not to glue the shaft F4.
The Wave Serpent upper turret fully assembled.
Test fit the Falcon Support Weapon Shaft F5 into the Pulse Laser part. You may need to file or sand one or both of the parts for it to fully fit. Make sure the Pulse Laser is perpendicular to the shaft F5 and parallel to the support weapon Glue F5 to the Pulse Laser.
Insert F5 into the Falcon Turret Base. Do not glue!
Glue the Falcon Turret Top onto the base. Be careful not to glue F5!

The components used in this step. The grav tank’s lower turret can use either a Shuriken Cannon or a twin-linked Shuriken Catapult. To enable you to swap between the two, we have put magnets inside the weapon mounts and in the base of the lower hull.
The Wave Serpent and Falcon Lower Turret Sprue. F2 is the Lower Turret Plug and F3 is the Lower Turret Mount. You will also need three 3mm by 2mm disk magnets.
Glue the 3mm by 2mm disk magnets into F2 and both F3. Ensure the polarity is compatible with what is shown above.
Insert the weapons into the Lower Turret Mounts. Be careful of the rear hose! If you use too much pressure, the hose will break! The weapons slide into the part as shown in the picture above. The pose of the weapon will be able to be changed if you don’t use glue. Glue F2 into the bottom turret hole. The picture above shows the twin shuriken catapults installed.

The six Wave Serpent Spines. Each side has an A (the largest), B (middle), and C (smallest). You need to clean the parts carefully when removing the supports, as any leftover bits will affect the way the spines sit on the hull.
Glue the magnets into the spines in a consistent polarity.
Place a Wave Serpent Spine Magnet Glue Guide into the underside of the hull. You may want to add a drop of glue to hold it in place. Glue three 6mm by 1mm disk magnets into place on each side of the hull. Ensure the polarity of the magnets are compatible with the polarity in the spines. Note that the bottom of the spines fit into the notches on the upper hull.
The three spines on the left hull are shown installed. They can be removed to transform the tank into a Falcon hull.

For the Falcon and Wave Serpent tanks, the Magnet Baron recommends the Large Flat Short magnetic flying stand kit. This combo kit uses one Large Flat Short (LFS) kit (one 12mm acrylic rod with four 12mm by 3mm disk magnets) and one additional magnet.
Because of the way the Wave Serpent crew compartment attaches to the bottom of the hull, the typical LFS method of putting a magnet under the hull will not work. Glue a 12mm by 3mm disk magnet in the spot inside the lower hull as shown in the picture above.
Glue another 12mm by 3mm disk magnet to the bottom of the Wave Serpent crew compartment assembly. Pay attention to the magnet’s polarity so it is compatible with the one glued into the lower hull. In this case, we are going with “blue up.”
Follow the instructions on the Magnet Baron web site for more detail, but the quick summary is the following picture.
The goal is to make the central acrylic symmetrical such that it can be used in either orientation (up or down).
The Falcon’s flying stand attaches at this point.
The Wave Serpent’s flying stand attaches here.
Continue to build the Wave Serpent and Falcon as directed in the included instructions.
