If you let Neodymium Super Magnets slam into each other they are very likely going to chip and break. Neodymium magnets are more brittle than glass and need to be handled with care.
This is true for all Neodymium magnets, commonly called Super Magnets or Rare Earth Magnets.
For best practices slide magnets apart and let them slowly slide or touch together.
